Apprenticeship Position Details

DRDO’s DESIDOC division plays a vital role in managing scientific information and documentation for India’s defense research ecosystem. Selected apprentices will gain practical experience in specialized technical environments under expert supervision. This program aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry requirements while developing skilled professionals for the defense sector.

Available Disciplines:

• Electronics & Communication Engineering – Work with communication systems, circuit design, and testing equipment
• Computer Science & IT – Assist in software development, network administration, and cybersecurity projects
• Mechanical Engineering – Support mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes
• Library & Information Science – Manage technical documentation and scientific databases
• Electrical Engineering – Participate in electrical system maintenance and development

Training Environment:

Apprentices will work at DRDO’s state-of-the-art facilities in Delhi, gaining exposure to:

• Defense research documentation systems

Eligibility & How to Apply

DRDO seeks motivated candidates with relevant educational backgrounds. The selection process emphasizes both academic qualifications and practical aptitude.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, maximum 25 years as of July 31, 2025 (age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government norms)
• Educational Qualification:
  • For Engineering Disciplines: Diploma in relevant engineering field with minimum 60% marks from recognized institute
  • For Library Science: Degree in Library & Information Science
  • All qualifications must be from AICTE/UGC recognized institutions
• Nationality: Indian citizen
• Language Proficiency: Working knowledge of English and Hindi

Step-by-Step Application Guide:

1. Prepare Documents: Scan your educational certificates, photo ID proof, passport photo, and signature in PDF/JPEG format (max 500KB each)
2. Visit Official Portal: Go to the DRDO apprenticeship registration website
3. New Registration: Create an account using your email and mobile number
4. Complete Application Form: Fill all personal, educational, and contact details carefully
5. Select Preference: Choose “DESIDOC, Delhi” as your preferred location and select your discipline
6. Upload Documents: Attach all required files in specified formats
